The Naples Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly drove away with one sweet ride Tuesday in Naples — a Bentley worth almost $100,000.

Investigators say Justin William Durbin hopped into the car and sped off during an offsite meeting with sales consultant Garrett Ryan Rick of Ambassador Auto Sales on
Davis Boulevard. Thinking Durbin was just test driving the car, Rick waited approximately 10 minutes and then tried to contact Durbin on his cell phone.

No luck.

Rick then went to an attorney’s office in the area of the 600 block of 5th Avenue South and asked if they knew Durbin, according to arrest reports.

He waited about an hour and contacted Naples Police to report the vehicle and tag stolen, reports state.

Investigators said Durbin first met Rick in person Monday.

“He stopped in a couple of times during a 48-hour period,” said Nick Garulay, owner and president of the dealership. “He was initially looking at the Astin Martin.”

During the meeting, the man produced an Oklahoma driver’s license. He drove a red 2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 SUV bearing an unknown Florida tag to the meeting.

Garulay said he learned late Wednesday that the Mercedes was stolen from a dealership in Missouri.

“He was driving a brand-new Mercedes and had these clothes on that made it seem like everything was pretty normal,” said Garulay, who said Durbin was in his early 20s, with blonde hair sculpted into a “faux hawk” and wore bright European fashions.

Durbin told Rick that he was interesting in buying a car but had to talk with his father first.

Later that evening, Rick received several text messages from Durbin’s father, “Tom,” who said his son wanted information on a gray 2007 Bentley Continental GT, valued at $97,900.

On Tuesday, Durbin returned to the dealership, inspected the Bentley and told Rick he would return with a check from Chase Bank.

“His dad said he wanted the car brought downtown so he could inspect it,” Garulay said.

Rick then brought the Bentley with its Florida dealer tag to the 600 Block of 5th Avenue South and met with Durbin.

Durbin told Rick his father was upstairs meeting with an attorney. As Rick was standing outside of the car, Durbin “got in turned it on and sped off,” Garulay said.

Durbin’s cell phone went to voice mail and so did the calls Rick made to Durbin’s father, according to reports.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Naples Police Department at 213-4822.
